Formosa Tropical Wine Collection


Hofatown is a brand dedicated to bring a piece of Taiwan’s vibrant food culture to your table.

One of their products they offer is the Formosa Tropical Wine Collection, a series of wines that won the 2019 Spirit Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles Award. Born and brewed in Kaohsiung, their goal is to introduce the taste of Taiwan—a country famously known as the kingdom of fruits—to a new audience.

Taking inspiration from the environment where the fruit is grown in, the design for this collection utilizes a tropical color palette. Additionally, stamp-like typography is used to convey trustworthiness, authenticity, and an artisanal touch.

Lastly, the wine labels also feature botanical illustrations that depict different growing stages of fruit. This is to create a certain sense of approachability but simultaneously, to add a scientific aspect to the product as well so that the audience can understand the amount of knowledge and care that is put in growing the crops.

Fresh, bright, crisp, and intensely aromatic, we hope that the design of this product can serve as a fantastic entry point to the taste of Taiwan for those who are otherwise unfamiliar with it.
